TV2 or Radio Televisyen Malaysia 2 is a government-owned television station under the Ministry of Information Malaysia. The broadcast of Malaysia's RTM2 television started on November 17, 1969, offering entertainment programs, and movies in Malay, English, Tamil, and Mandarin. RTM2 also broadcasts Spanish-language soap operas and telenovelas.
TV2, also known as RTM2, together with RTM1, has been relaunched with a new logo and slogan: TV2 - Your Family Channel, replacing its previous slogan, The Golden Channel. On April 3, 2006, at 5:55 am, RTM2 began broadcasting 24 hours a day for the first time (followed by RTM1 on August 21, 2012), with programs devoted to viewers who wake up in the middle of the night.
TV1, TV2, and 32 RTM radio stations celebrated their 63rd-anniversary bash in 2009.
Educational TV was also previously broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday mornings until the afternoon on RTM2 (1972 to 1999).
RTM2 broadcasts via Higher Frequency wave-3, although some places in Malaysia broadcast it in UHF. In the Klang Valley, it is broadcast from the Kuala Lumpur Tower on VHF channel 8, with a weak broadcast from Gunung Ulu Kali on VHF channel 10 in some places in the Klang Valley.
