TV2 Live

TV2 or Radio Televisyen Malaysia 2 is a government-owned television station under the Ministry of Information Malaysia. The broadcast of Malaysia's RTM2 television started on November 17, 1969, offering entertainment programs, and movies in Malay, English, Tamil, and Mandarin. RTM2 also broadcasts Spanish-language soap operas and telenovelas.

TV2, also known as RTM2, together with RTM1, has been relaunched with a new logo and slogan: TV2 - Your Family Channel, replacing its previous slogan, The Golden Channel. The launch was made on August 20, 2004, two weeks after the renewal of TV1 by the Minister of Information Malaysia, Datuk Paduka Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir.

As a government broadcasting company, elements such as sex and violence will be monitored. To compete with the growing number of private television channels, several new programs, including Playtime On 2, E-Shoppers, Whassup, and Elegance On 2, have been introduced through the channel. In addition, Chinese viewers are served with several programs such as Dim Sum Hour, Gallery Phoenix, and Chopstick On 2.

Although TV2 is more commercial, it still bears the responsibility of promoting high family values through its program variations.

On April 3, 2006, at 5:55 am, RTM2 began broadcasting 24 hours a day for the first time (followed by RTM1 on August 21, 2012), with programs devoted to viewers who wake up in the middle of the night.

TV1, TV2, and 32 RTM radio stations celebrated their 63rd-anniversary bash in 2009.

Educational TV was also previously broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday mornings until the afternoon on RTM2 (1972 to 1999).

RTM2 broadcasts via Higher Frequency wave-3, although some places in Malaysia broadcast it in UHF. In the Klang Valley, it is broadcast from the Kuala Lumpur Tower on VHF channel 8, with a weak broadcast from Gunung Ulu Kali on VHF channel 10 in some places in the Klang Valley.

Like most other televisions, TV2 also has certain controversies. In 2007, viewers criticized RTM for not taking the broadcast of Formula 1 seriously (only 7 delays out of 17 live broadcasts). The broadcasting rights were then returned to private TV channels. TV2 can also be watched on Astro and MYTV channel 102.
